We have seen an unprecedented number of tragedies strike back to back, many of which hitting close to home for us. Our friends and clients in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico saw devastation just over a month ago. Earthquakes in Mexico destroyed thousands of homes in a matter of seconds. In our own state, our neighbors in Las Vegas were victim to a senseless massacre just over a week ago. And now, fires in Northern California rage on, leaving thousands with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

In an effort to support victims across the country, we have outlined a list of reliable charities and ways you can help.

For our neighbors in Las Vegas…

Steve Sisolak, Chair of the Clark County Commission, set up a Go Fund Me page to provide support for victims of this massacre. You can contribute here. 

For our friends in Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico…

The Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund was established by the Greater Houston Community Relief Foundation and the Mayor of Houston to provide relief to flood victims. You can donate here.
UNICEF is providing relief for victims on the coast of Florida and in Puerto Rico and the surrounding islands in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. You can donate here. 

For our friends in Mexico…

Crowdfunding efforts on Global Giving are raising funds to provide both immediate and long term relief as Mexico rebuilds after the series of earthquakes. You can donate here.

And for our friends in Sonoma County…

Devastating wildfires continue to rage on in Northern California, just a three hour drive from our office here in Reno. The Napa Valley Community Relief Fund is taking donations here.
The Sonoma Humane Society is helping provide care for displaced animals and accepting donations here. They also have an Amazon Wishlist with supplies desperately need here.

Also…

We are “Adopting” a K-8 Elementary School in Sonoma County, where dozens of families have been displaced. We are organizing a gift card drive to be dispersed to students and their families who have lost everything–their homes, memories, belongings. If you are able to contribute, we will be collecting gift cards to accessible retailers like Target, Safeway, Amazon, Petco, and PetSmart to give to the victims. We will be sending the gift cards and handwritten letters of support and love (we would be happy to pass yours on, too!) by October 31st.
