Outside recently featured reporter Emily Pennington’s experience and exploration of Miami’s underwater oasis in “Let Summer Live on with a Visit to Biscayne National Park.” Emily is on a mission to travel through all 63 US national parks, and Biscayne National Park was number 55! With the help and guidance of Biscayne National Park Institute, Emily was able to explore the park amidst an oncoming hurricane. Even with an oncoming storm, Emily paddled along the shoreline and snorkeled through the mangroves, spotting jellyfish, schools of fish, and lobsters! She stated that Biscayne is “a park that was weird, wet, and wonderful.”
