Marquesas Islands Recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO

We are celebrating the Marquesas Islands and their recognition as a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a specialized agency with the aim of promoting world peace and security.

“The archipelago is one of the most isolated on the planet, which protects it relatively from mass tourism. Through the World Heritage listing, it will continue to inspire and fascinate the world with its beauty, exceptional biodiversity and rich cultural heritage.” says Anatauarii Tamarii, archaeologist and leader of the Directorate of Culture and Heritage of French Polynesia

This recognition is a testament to the islands’ exceptional natural beauty, biodiversity, and cultural heritage. This is a big deal for our client, Aranui Cruises, considering the Aranui is the ONLY hybrid cruise / cargo ship that travels to the Marquesas!
