Murphy Plastic Surgery Spearheads Local Giving Campaign to Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Proceeds from “Pink” inspired items at local retailers will be donated to Mom’s on The Run

To help raise awareness, and funding for breast cancer research, Murphy Plastic Surgery has pioneered the “Power of Pink” campaign. Throughout the month of October, Murphy Plastic Surgery will donate proceeds for “pink” items purchased at a variety of partnering local retail, restaurant and spa locations to Mom’s on The Run, a Reno-based non-profit organization dedicated to assist local women with cancer.

Partnering businesses and “Power of Pink” items include: The Eyelash Connection (south Reno Location), $1.00 donated for each pink bracelets purchased; LoDo Loft Clothing Boutique, $1.00 donation for each pink clothing item purchased; D’s Sweet Cheeks Boutique, $1.00 for any pink bra or panty purchased; Lime Spa, $1.00 for each pink pedicure purchased; Napa Sonoma Grocery Co., $1.00 for each pink cosmopolitan cocktail purchased; Aspen Glen Bar, $1.00 for each specialty “pink” cocktail purchased.

“I work with many patients who have been affected by breast cancer, and know first hand how important it is to support finding more advanced treatment options,” said Dr. James Murphy. “This is just one way that we can give back and get the community rally behind a cause that helps those in northern Nevada who are fighting such a difficult battle.”

Dr. James Murphy of Murphy Plastic Surgery is most well known for his expertise in breast reconstructive and cosmetic surgery as well as infant cleft lip and palate repair.  With more than fifteen years experience practicing in the Reno-Tahoe area, Dr. Murphy performs more than twice the national average of cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgeries annually, according to the America Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
