An oasis just 20 miles south of Miami, Biscayne National Park is one of four unique National Parks throughout south Florida. Over 95% of the park is “underwater”, making exploration by foot nearly impossible. Biscayne National Park Institute, a unique partnership between Biscayne National Park and the Florida National Parks Association, is the official nonprofit provider of immersive, educational programs on the water. From sailing and snorkel adventures, island visits and community trash and debris pickups via stand-up paddle boards, the Biscayne National Park Institute makes it possible for visitors to explore the aquamarine waters and vibrant coral home to vibrant fish, sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, and beautiful islands with mangrove trees.

While the draw of tropical south Florida brings tourists and national park enthusiasts, Biscayne National Park Institute sought additional help to set itself apart from the other well-know destinations like Everglades National Park and increase awareness among visitors both locally and nationally. After retaining K. Sutherland PR in July 2019, we have worked to increase recognition locally and distinguish the Institute apart from the Park Service, manage influencer and travel blog interviews, coordinate press trips, and secure consistent national media coverage on their behalf.

Since we started working with the Institute, they’ve continued to fill their daily trips to capacity and become recognized as a can’t-miss destination in Florida. Our efforts have helped secure media mention in national outlets like Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, Thrillist, Men’s Journal, Forbes and much more.
